Town Creek Park can be used as a beginning and end point, allowing paddlers to experience the exciting whitewater rapids along this creek and run laps - fun for an exciting tubing trip.
This 100-acre park has a variety of recreation offerings including dirt bike trails and jumps, sports fields, walking trails, playgrounds, and creek access. River access is located at the Pickens Rec. Center (1), Pickens Jaycee Park (2), and at the Volunteer Field (3). Town Creek Park in Pickens, SC is located between US Highway 178 and Reece Mill Road. Paddlers can put in at the main entrance off of W. Jones Avenue and paddle or float down to the second creek access off of Sangamo. Paddlers can either walk or shuttle cars back and forth. While this trip is short, paddling experience is needed, especially in higher water when the rapids can become more technical. River access is located at the Pickens Rec.
