Trip Details

Jones Gap State Park is a 15 minute drive from the Echo Valley Plaza Gas Station on Highway 11, so shuttling cars could take about half an hour. Because the put in is located within Jones Gap State Park, paddlers should check in at the Jones Gap Headquarters for instructions and directions. Once on the river, there are Class II-IV rapids along the trip. The take out is the 7th bridge crossing. Paddlers should take out at Highway 11 bridge, upstream river right, and portage boats 0.25 miles to the Echo Valley Plaza Gas Station. For more information see the The Upper Saluda River Blueway map. For additional information, please visit: https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/3825/.
