This trip is a little longer and more rural than the upstream sections of the Catawba. Most of the banks are wooded. This section is mostly flat water, with a rocky shoals along the way.
Wooded trails, boardwalks, picnic area, and other amenities are available at this park along a beautiful stretch of Catawba River.
This access is a part of the Catawba Nation Greenway. It is located on Catawba Nation Reservation.
Starting at River Park, this trip takes you past rural, wooded stream banks and a number of rocky shoals. You will float to the east until about halfway, where the river makes a large bend to the south. After the bend is a series of shoals.
The take-out for this trip is on the Catawba Nation Greenway, on the Catawba Reservation. There is a Catawba National Cultural Center and other amenities available near the take-out.
