This short section on the South Saluda River is a great beginner-friendly mountain river paddling experience.

Park in dirt lot river-left. Paddlers should be aware that the Class IV-V Blythe Shoals rapid is directly downstream of the Naturaland Trust river access.
The Naturaland Trust Access is only a 5 minute drive from the SCDNR Access; shuttling cars would be quick and easy. Parking is available on the north side of Geer Highway in a roadside pulloff. Portage boats across the road to the SCDNR Access. Once on the river, the Naturaland Trust Access will be river-left immediately after the river turnsat a 90 degree angle from east to south flowing. Be sure to exit the river at the Naturaland Trust river access if you do not wish to paddle the Class IV-V rapid. For more information see The Upper Saluda River Blueway map.
