This trip is flatwater and very family friendly. Visitors to Paris Mountain State Park can rent canoes, kayaks, or pedal boats to explore Lake Placid, a small lake with a swimming area.
Lake Placid at Paris Mountain State Park can be used as a put in and take out. The lake is flatwater.
Canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats are all available for rent on weekends only, in spring and fall from 11 AM to 5 PM, depending on weather and the availability of lifeguards. All rental boats are available for rent from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tu-F, and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sa-Su through mid-August. Please check with the park before making final plans. Private boats are not allowed. Swimming is only allowed in the roped off section of the lake. Swimming, picnic shelters, biking, and hiking also available. Admission to the park is $5 adults; $3.25 SC seniors (age 65 & older); $3/ child age 6-15; Free for children 5 and younger.
